In 1991, Villanova basketball star Shelly Pennefather turned down an overseas contract that would make her one of the world’s richest female players. She decided instead to pursue a radical path. Pennefather joined one of the strictest religious sects in the world, a choice that has come with unimaginable commitment and sacrifice.
